Alrighty guys welcome to part two of the travel guide! In this post let’s talk about the actual locations that were visited. Travelling to a new place is very overwhelming, espcecially when you’re trying to enjoy every minute. The tough part is wrapping your mind around the fact that you can’t do it all. Each place has SO many cool things to do! Figuring out if you want to focus on food, art, or general sight seeing is hard.
Hollywood:

The first place on our list was Hollywood! It was the closest to our Airbnb and made our first day of being a tourist a breeze. From the diner we took a lyft to hollywood blvd. The walk of fame is LONG! I mainly was just hoping names of my favs would jump out at me (super hurt Sade Adu does not have one. If you don’t know who she is…google her #shamelssplugin), because this is a regular street with business’. So getting a neck brace and hoping to gaze at each star is not going to happen.
Walking the Hollywood walk of fame is like a travel guide in itself, because you end up in the heart of hollywood where all the action is happening. We got to see the Oscars getting set up, TCL chinese theatre (which is where Micheal Jackson’s star is located if you’re looking for it), and the Hollywood & Highland (a super cool mall). They also have great souvenir shops if you’re wanting to get gifts for family/freinds out of the way!

Travel hint:
All three of these stars were located in front of the Chinese Theatre!
Hollywood in my opinion was a great location to be a tourist in for the first day. Just getting dropped off on the walk of fame allows you to sight see, shop, and see great talent all in a few hours.
Beverly Hills:
This place is literal MONEY! My goodness I can’t even imagine what company you have to own to live in a mansion ACROSS the street from the ICONIC Beverly Hills Hotel! The streets are pristine. Shrubbery? snipped to perfection. The palm trees? Towering over you like you’re in a fairytail. Honestly nothing touristy to do in this area, but it’s the perfect place to just get dropped off and take a stroll.

There aren’t many people walking around either except for the occasional person trying to get a picture by the palms.

So if you’re visiting, have some downtime, and its a beautiful day DEFINITLY walk around a little bit. Also for my active bugs out there this would be the perfect morning run. Overall Beverly Hills is legit fabulous and I want to live there one day.

Hollywood Sign #theclimb:
Let’s start with the address we put in to get dropped off close enough to the sign (I know that’s why you’re here): 3160 Canyon Lake Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90068

Travel Tip:
The closer you get to the sign the harder it is to get your money shot. We found an area in between the park and the closest point you could get to. It was surrounded by a few trees and had the best view.
Ok, back to our scheduled programming!

The view from the neighborhood park
If you google “Where does the Hollywood sign trail begin?” You will get multiple articles about the different points you can start from in Griffith park & other locations. Personally I’m not the active type & hiking is just not a form of enjoyment for me. Daphney luckily has a friend who travels to L.A. often and had this handy address saved in her archives. It drops you right in front of the neighborhood park, where you can see the sign, but you can still do a little 10-15 minute walk to get closer to it.
We of course lyfted to this address, but if you have your own vehicle you may want to get there early so you can find street parking.
P.S. There are homes hidden in the hills #shockedme so be mindful of cars.
Santa Monica:
Santa Monica is another awesome walking location. If you want a nice stroll by the beach, awesome food trucks, and sun rays gleaming down on you. THIS IS IT! Once you hit the pier you get to hear so much amazing talent performing (some of them don’t want you filming or taking pics). There of course are rides (kind of pricey to get on) and carnival themed food like funnel cake. If you start you day early like we did you should start off by getting dropped of at Santa Monica place, which is a cool open-air mall, and check out some of the shops & resturants. Keep in mind that there are going to be a TON of people walking on the pier so if you’re not good in packed spaces be prepared.
Melrose:

The only picture I got while I was waiting for my brunch in Melrose.
I don’t have many pictures of melrose, but it’s the coolest street I’ve ever been on. Super dope shops, super dope people, and super dope resturants. Definatly perfect for the young adult crowd.
L.A was literally a dream! I feel extremely blessed to have been able to visit one of the places of dreamt of visiting since I was young. The vibes were perfection. I’m so glad I got to meet so many talented people working towards the most amazing dreams. I wish everyone I met the best. I can’t wait to go back!
